Why do more white female singers write their own songs?
There are way more white female singer-songwriters than black, and there are more white females in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Just look at Dolly Parton, Kate Bush, Carole King, Diane Warren and Annie Lennox.
Because, they are the most talented and most original singers in the world.
Unlike blacks of course. They have to constantly steal classic pieces of work and remix them into their rap beats and lyrics. It just ruins the original work.

Most white/black female singers don’t write their own songs, so why are you only calling out the black ones?
John | Dec 11, 2009
I think because in society, it’s more acceptable for a girl to write and/or sing about her feelings. It is seen as weak for a male to talk about how heartbroken he is, or how depressed he is- but it is ok for women to.

why are you so obsessed with black people & what significance does the writer of a song have in your life??

Does one ideology have the monopoly on reporting, banning, and blocking in GWS?
I ask this because I’ve heard it around here quite a bit (incidentally, the ’side’ that’s supposed to have this monopoly varies depending on who’s talking, but it the sentiment does usually come down in one direction).
In any case, I submit myself as pretty clear evidence to the contrary: while I’m under the impression that I’m one of the more controversial characters here (if anyone here agrees with everything I say, please speak up now – I don’t think I’ve noticed any such people), I very rarely ever see a question or answer of mine getting a violation notice (the few I have gotten are pretty random, and not consistent in ideology or message – and the odd thing is that they’re almost without exception some of the tamest things I post here), I’ve never been ‘banned’ or had an account deleted (I use "CAustin II" because "CAustin"’s mail was just getting swamped with spam), and I’m not blocked by anyone I know of (or at least no one whose questions I click on, which would alert me to it).
Which is to say, apparently it’s possible to speak freely, and to disagree with both the fems AND the anti-fems on a regular basis on no uncertain terms, and NOT be reported, blocked, and violation-noticed into oblivion.
So, to take the unpopular stance of defending the Yamster, does the censorship that does take place here actually have some basis in legitimacy (e.g. personal insults, harassment of individuals, etc.)? Is it not as big a factor as some people make it out to be? Or do I for some reason get a special pass (if that’s the case, why)?
A should also ask, is there anyone else in a situation similar to my own – disagreeing with people on every side frequently and openly, yet not getting censored or blocked for it?
We do hear an awful lot from people who DO complain of being silenced – it would be interesting to know how common those of us who don’t really have that problem are.
I’ve used GWS as an experiment.
I’ve posted that I’m a feminist and answered as such.
I’ve posted that I was no longer a feminist and answered as a well.."anti" (for lack of better term)
Then I went back to being a feminist (which I always was, btw)
I didn’t see the # of violations/blocks/etc..increase nor decrease at any time.
I believe it’s more of a high school popularity type thing, rather than an ideological one.
Greasers vs. Soc’s, ya know?

One troll that doesn’t like your opinion is enough to get your question deleted, in some cases even your account. So much to freedom of speech.

"Or do I for some reason get a special pass (if that’s the case, why)?"
I told you, it’s that sexy jawline!
Seriously, I haven’t been here as long as many but it does seem implausible that either side could rig the system to their favor that way.
EDIT
Further reflection: I suspect that in the course of offending people on one side you’ve also earned the good will of the other and by earning some good will from both sides, you’ve come to be someone who receives the benefit of the doubt when you do offend.
I like to think I’ve done the same to some extent though in different ways.

I read something earlier tonight about the blocking of people for being feminist. I am blocked by two women and I don’t know why, guess they didn’t like one of my answers.CAustin II, I hate to tell you this, but I really don’t think of you as very controversial. Polite and intelligent come to mind.
I thought the II on the end was because you were named after your dad

LOOOOOOOADS of my questions and answers get deleted. Anything that says anything negative about certain groups gets reported. Sometimes I used to ask mirror questions of questions asked about men or anti-feminists, because I was curious and annoyed by the censorship and they usually end up getting deleted, or not shown in the first place.

"while I’m under the impression that I’m one of the more controversial characters here (if anyone here agrees with everything I say, please speak up now – I don’t think I’ve noticed any such people), I very rarely ever see a question or answer of mine getting a violation notice"
I disagree with you being a controversial character

Sometimes I disagree with you, but many times you are articulate and logical, so I agree with you.
I don’t think anyone can agree with anyone else 100% all the time, though.
I think that people here are many times flouting the rules(myself included)-chatting, trolling etc- but there’s not that much reporting going around as some people claim to be. It’s definitely not one-sided. And if all the A&Q that flout the rules were reported, there’d be such a desert here
PS: About men not being ruled by emotions: I’ve been blocked by Hopscotch because he asked how many feminist movements there actually are and I listed them(citing a source). Apparently that somehow offended him. And obviously I should know better than to offend someone who is not actually asking a question, but just waiting for agreement.

The blocking comes from: severe dislike and disagreements.
You’re eloquent; you choose your words wisely. You meticulously choose your words as one would do in a court of law.
There’s nothing wrong with you defending the Yamster, this is what you truly believe.
However; the blocking and banning and all of the above has reasons of its own; depending upon each individual; meaning the answer can not be pinpointed to one specific reason.

You mitigate your views with an air of political correctness and avoid taking a more unpopular stance, so you do not get violations as if you were more frank and blunt. Up until recently you were the PC poster boy, which would exempt you from persecution, since you were voicing an opinion that supported the status quo.
There seems to be a homosexual/Feminist cabal on Y!A that will target you if you take the unpopular stance that Feminism is bad, populated at the higher levels by lesbians, or say anything negative about homosexuality however true that it may be.
I once had an answer deleted in which I stated that men and women are of equal intelligence, and I have had innocuous questions deleted. I had appealed that, and I was told by a member of the abuse team that, stating men and women were of equal intelligence did, in fact, violate the community guidelines… somehow. Once the "useful idiots" target you, Y!A will delete anything that the Feminist zealots flag.
The buffoons at Y!A abuse, wield their power unevenly with much bias, administered through the precepts of PC "tolerance," which amounts to silencing views that are not inline with the Feminist canon.

I have been blocked by so many people, it’s ridiculous. I believe the number is above 10 now. If I had to put money on it. I would say that the feminist here do the most blocking and contribute most to the routine violation notices I receive.
Arguments should be based on dispassionate analysis more than emotions. Feminist here are do not understand this essential law of debating.
Capone | Jan 30, 2010
I think being impartial is probably a lot easier but when a poster wants to be known as an anti-fem or feminist then the possibility of annoying someone else is greater. But I believe it’s only a small portion of posters who react immaturely to other posters and will report and block them.

Nah – some just like to ply the ‘fickle finger’ as and when they choose, with or without rhyme or reason. Some childishly see it as a contest with someone who has criticised them; some see it as a valid part of ‘the programme’ of knocking down your ‘opponent’s’ views, some use it to cut out discussion on issues, i.e. trying to censor discussion..
I ignore them as much as possible, and only use the ‘fickle finger’ when someone is blatantly abusive or overly aggressive, or just plain nuts in their views. Never done it to the Yamster – haven’t seen his/her questions or answers.

Does one ideology have the monopoly on reporting, banning, and blocking in GWS?
How is someone supposed to answer that… where’s the "ideology x abuse reportings" census?
dont think there is one.

Most often, a man’s life is like a car in the dark, you ONLY see what your Head Light shown to you, but not what happen to other cars.
How do you stick with your kind of argument, if you see this:

On a average beautiful day I get 10 "violations" answer report! Ha ha ha!
Not to mention account suspends, yet many other feminists, despite posting GROSS offensive stuffs, NEVER get suspended! (Despite getting countless reports from MRAs)
Politically Corrected PARROT | Jan 30, 2010
Personally, I think what you say is all blathering idiocy, that ranges from laughable to offensive.
But it doesn’t violate any community standards whatsoever.
The people who whine about being reported forget one thing: reporting does not equal automatic removal of questions, answers, or warning. The offending entry has to be a violation of the standards here to be removed.

Why would you think you’re controversial?
I tend to think you’re one of the more moderate posters. Probably because i agree with you most of the time, (not all the time).
I, myself, don’t identify with either side or any group in particular, but in regards to blockings, I’ve found I’ve been blocked by feminists as well as trolls from both sides ( I try to ignore them but sometimes I just can’t help myself).
I don’t get many violations and about 80% of the one’s I do get are reinstated on appeal. I feel that when this happens, I was reported by someone who simply didn’t agree with or like my answer (thats what the TD is for!), in this regard, I think the YA team seems to be able to sort the wheat from the chaff.
It is possible to speak freely, but it must be done with consideration of the other persons point of view as well as a modicum of respect (most of the time LOL), your eloquence and obvious intelligence as well as your carefully written answers are what gets you the special pass, keep up the good work.

I have been blocked by both feminists and anti-feminists, so I seem to be succeeding in irritating people of all shades of opinion, which is most satisfactory.
I have had answers reported, usually for the most trivial of reasons, I think the people who do it haven’t enough to occupy their time, quite frankly.
If my account was ever deleted I would not bother to open another one.
As for why you personally don’t get blocked, I don’t think you ask particularly controvresial questions or expresss controversial opinions, you seem pretty bland to me.
