Jesus Christ how did you type all that crap out?

And just recently I started to read a lot, and started to appreciate it a lot more thanks to my girlfriend. She reads a LOT. So I got a couple books I thought I’d be interested in, and I’m starting to really like it.

So far my favorites are:

1.) The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
2.) The Shining by Stephen King
3.) Diary by Chuck Palahniuk
4.) 7 Steps To Midnight by Richard Matheson (I really recommend this to anyone who likes thrillers and suspense novels)

And right now I’m trying to finish Rant and Haunted both by Chuck Palahniuk.

Plot: Mr. Bean enters a church raffle and wins a vacation trip to France as well as a camcorder. After boarding a Eurostar train and arriving in Paris, the French language proves a barrier for Bean, as he struggles to get across the city to catch a train to the south of France from the Gare de Lyon. Taking time to order a meal, he finds the consumption of a seafood platter to be a challenge. Just before catching his train, he asks Emil, a Russian film director on his way to be a judge at the Cannes Film festival to use his camcorder to record his boarding, but accidentally causes Emil being left behind at the station. Bean attempts to cheer up the director’s son Stepan as the train continues south but matters are made more hectic by the fact that Emil has reported his son to have been kidnapped and Bean losing his wallet and essential travel documents at a pay phone where he and Stepan attempt to contact Emil. Heading in the direction of Cannes, Bean finds himself in the cast and disrupting the flow of a commercial being shot by the egotistical director Carson Clay. He and Stepan finally hitch a ride with the young and vivacious actress Sabine who is heading to Cannes to attend the premiere of Clay’s film, in which she appears. After Bean sneaks into the showing, his camcorder images are destined to enliven the proceedings.

What did you think of this song?
Love? Hate? Indifference?
Somewhere in between?

A musical genius, and one of the deranged minds behind DEVO, Mothersbaugh’s music has become nearly ubiquitous – covering commercials, video games, tv shows, and movies.

That’s him on a lot of the instruments in there, by the way.

Hi Radio.
I saw you, or maybe it was someone else, but someone mentioned this one as a particularly good Mothersbaugh score tune so I downloaded it. I knew I liked the music from the Life Aquatic anyways, but I enjoyed it a lot. I really love his score work. Him and Wes Anderson is a pretty cool artistic marriage.

Great choice. Have a good one.

Prof Anger (pro… tools?) | Mar 05, 2009

Oh my God I love that movie! and I love Devo! So I guess you could say that the song just brightened my day?

haha it reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite vaguely.
joe. | Mar 05, 2009

By itself I’d be somewhere in between. The music made me smile at the beginning just for the sheer wackiness of the sounds, but I was getting bored with it half-way through.

Given it’s association with one of my favorite Wes Anderson movies, though, I love it!

What should I do about mold in my bathroom?
I currently live in an old duplex, maybe twenty or thirty years old. All of the walls are cement board, not drywall. Recently mold has started developing on the walls and the ceiling. Since it is an older place there is no ventilation and the only small window doesn’t have great weather proofing. I know all the moisture from the showers and all the recent rain is the cause, but I was wondering if there was a way we could get rid of it once and for all. One of my boyfriends buddies told us about lemon juice and vinegar, it seemed to work, it got rid of all the fuzzy looking stuff but left a stain. Now the mold is coming back and has spread to the bedrooms. My boyfriend thinks it’s only on the outside of the walls from condensation since we have concrete walls. We have told the landlord but he won’t do anything and I’m worried that my boyfriends mom, who has health issues, is just going to get sick. Also, I don’t know if it has anything to do with it, but we don’t have central heat. Just a window unit that acts as both AC and heater. The heater part doesn’t work. The landlord has told us to keep scrubbing it down and to open a window. The only problem is that winter is almost here and it rains almost every day. So here are my questions:
1) What can we do to stop the mold?
2) Can we take any legal action against the landlord?
3) What should we do in the mean time?
4)Who else should we notify?

use bleach water solution on the mold. that will kill it and help slow down the return rate. 1:4 ration bleach to water.

legal action can be taken, call a lawyer.

keep cleaning and stay diligent. when you start to see the discoloration bleach it, if not more often than that.

you can try to notify the health dept. the man run a business of housing, and should be held to code standards.

mold can cause major health hazards and problems. the spores get into the air and you breathe them in. major bad thing. take pictures of the places you get mold, and document it all. that way when you call a lawyer and the health dept, you have proof.
Alisa | Nov 22, 2009

Alisa said it all. I would definitely take legal action. Good luck with everything.
ironworkerjdc | Nov 23, 2009

You want to allow your bathroom to air everytime you shower in there. In the winter, use a small electric space heater to keep the room warm which should help keep down the condensation. After showering, crack the bathroom window open until the condensation has dried. Try using Tilex for mold on all hard surfaces. If the Tiles isn’t working the try Clorox Clean up. Remember either can bleach out fabrics so be careful. If there is mold in all rooms there could be an issue with water leaking somewhere. The only recourse you might have with the landlord is to sue him for failure to keep the residence upkeep up to date.
